I grew up outside of Chicago and received my A.A.S. degree in Photography from College of DuPage. When a job working in the lab at Sun Publications in Naperville, Il opened up, I had no idea how it would change my life. It was there I found a strong passion for community and social journalism that brought me to Western Kentucky University to finish my Bachelor’s degree in Photojournalism and New Media.

     In 2010, I joined the staff at the Beacon-News in Aurora, Il as part of the Chicago Sun-Times Media and spent three years documenting life in and around the city. After freelancing for a couple years in 2013 and 2014, I moved to Des Moines, IA to join the staff at the Des Moines Register.

     My work has been recognized by the National, Illinois and Kentucky Press Photographers Associations along with the Associated Press Sports Editors Association and The Upper Midwest Emmy Awards. In 2020 I was named Photographer of the Year by the Iowa Newspaper Association.
