The moments between classes and lessons are few and far between but every once and awhile the students at Interlochen have a spare minute to themselves.

The weather this week has been unseasonably warm. The only snow I saw was from the window as the plane landed in Traverse City. From that point on, the mercury slowly rose until it reached the 40's over the weekend. Clearly, snowy campus photos were going to be hard to come by so the thinking went from winter photos to "early spring/late fall" photos. Either way, the scenery and campus were beautiful and made the job pretty fun.
A big part of my time here at Interlochen has been spent documenting the academy's production of Sleeping Beauty.
Located close to Traverse City, Interlochen is home to two art camps, a boarding high school, public radio station, and creative arts college. I've spent the week documenting life at the school and will be hanging around for a few more days as classes wind down for the semester.
Here are a few of my favorite portraits so far. More to come as my week here comes to a close.
Kentucky's state football championships were held this weekend. Here are a few of my favorites from the time I spent on the sidelines.
Spent a few days on the western edge of the US last month...
A few of my favorites from last weekends homecoming win for the Hilltoppers.
Spent the afternoon in Madisonville, Ky. yesterday covering the Veteran's Day parade with U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and Alison Lundergan Grimes for the Louisville Courier-Journal.
A few frames from last weekends big music fest in Bowling Green featuring local music heroes Sleeper Agent and Buffalo Rodeo.
Driving home the other day I came across a group of AGR frat brothers lounging in their pool, in their truck. I promptly turned around and made a few frames.
Growing up in California, Chris Landeros was one of the top riders in Texas before he made the move to Kentucky this year. Starting over is never easy but for Landeros, who has won over 1,000 races, he is excited to make Louisville home and compete in the bluegrass.

Western was one of only a few places to be allowed to plant test plots of hemp seeds this summer in Kentucky. Those plants are finally ready for harvest and a group of teachers and students set out to collect, analyze and document the first round of data from the plants.
Earlier this week I spent the day at The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science for the Courier-Journal. The high school is located on the campus of Western Kentucky University and, for the third year in a row, has been named the best public school in the country by news website, The Daily Beast. Check out the full story on the Courier-Journal's website HERE.
St. Xavier came down to face Bowling Green and after a hard fought game lost in overtime 6-0.
Since 1981 Bowling Green has been the home of GM's Chevrolet Corvette assembly plant and in 1994 a group of enthusiasts banded together and built the National Corvette Museum next door.
Fast forward to 2014 and the Museum hosted the grand opening of the NCM Motorsports Park, a 3.15 mile race venue, along with it's 20th anniversary celebration welcoming Corvette caravans from all over North America as well as visitors from across the globe.
The Bowling Green State Falcons traveled to Western Kentucky on Friday night to take on the Hilltoppers for the first game the season. Behind the record setting night of WKU quarterback Brandon Doughty who was 46-56 with 569 yards and six touchdowns the Toppers defeated the Falcons 59-31.
A nearly two hour rain delay set the stage for what would be a 37-7 Temple wipe out of Vanderbilt in Nashville Thursday night.
Here are a few of my favorite frames from the game.
Earlier this summer I went down to Nashville to photograph Jo Dee Messina for The Boston Globe.
Born and raised outside of Boston, Messina rose to country music stardom by doing things her own way.
Messina's latest album, Me, was funded through a Kickstarter campaign and released on her own label, Dreambound records.
I got to spend a day at H.W. Byers High school for a TIME Magazine story on the roll out of the new Common Core education standards.
The highly controversial revamp of how teachers teach and students are evaluated has become a toxic subject for political figures that once backed it and has strained alliances in both political parties.
